Organic produce from our Walled Gardens
In 2025, 2,429.35 kg of organic produce were harvested from our restored walled garden, directly supporting our restaurant and Fisherman’s Pub. By growing food on-site, we significantly reduce food miles, lower transportation emissions, and minimise packaging waste. This approach supports seasonal menus, reduces reliance on external supply chains, and helps lower our overall carbon footprint while delivering fresh, sustainable produce to our guests.
Responsible Purchasing:
At Ballynahinch Castle, we prioritise locally sourced produce from Connemara, including meat, fish, smoked products, eggs, cheese, and salads, to reduce our carbon footprint. By working with nearby producers, we significantly cut food miles, lower transport emissions, and reduce packaging waste. This local-first approach supports sustainable farming and fishing practices, strengthens the regional economy, and allows us to offer fresh, seasonal food with a lighter environmental impact.
