With 700 acres of private estate to explore, guests can be as secluded or as sociable as they choose. Enjoy private family dinners, barbecues in your private gardens or reserve a table in the beautiful Owenmore restaurant overlooking the river or atmospheric Fisherman's Pub in the castle.
 
Days may be spent in quiet reflection or full of activity provided by the castle’s experienced guides. Cycling, fly-fishing, hiking, lobster-potting or even a shooting masterclass from the master instructor on site;  or simply enjoying the traditional games of rings, skipping, swing ball and board games in the privacy of your own house & gardens. You set your own pace. 
 
Lettery Lodge is a a truly luxurious property almost 7,000 sq ft over two floors; with five bedrooms all en-suite with ample space for all to enjoy their surroundings including a state-of-the-art kitchen/diner, dining room, utility, lounge with open log fire, a games rooms with pool table and a yoga studio.

Owenmore Cottage is a smaller more intimate property, albeit still 3,000 sq ft. It has six bedrooms with three bathrooms,  a twin & king bedroom sharing one bathroom. It has a large open plan lounge with wood burning stove and views of the river, kitchen, dining room & utility.

We operate a no-pet policy in both the hotel and our self catering accommodation.

Owenmore Cottage is a large self-catering property, sprawling, one-level six-bedroom home. It is surrounded by the wonderful forest of the Ballynahinch estate, peaceful private gardens, and views of the winding Owenmore River. The cottage is conveniently located just a three-minute walk from the hotel.

Owenmore Cottage is an excellent choice for families or groups seeking space, comfort, and privacy. Whether you’re traveling with loved ones or friends, this self-catering property offers ample room to unwind. Recently refurnished, this country house boasts clean modern lines and cosy furnishings.

Picture windows views of the bright green lawns and impressive woodlands that surround us here at Ballynahinch Castle.

The six bedrooms are thoughtfully laid out, Each pair of bedrooms features a king-size bed and twin beds, sharing a bathroom. Two bathrooms have baths with overhead showers, while the third has a spacious walk-in shower.

Lettery Lodge is a luxurious self-catering property on our grounds here at Ballynahinch Castle, with ample space and comfort. With five bedrooms, it accommodates up to ten guests.

The property offers a fully equipped Kitchen with a dining table, spacious Dining room, Lounge with an open log fire, Games room featuring a pool table and also your very own Yoga studio with an amazing mountain views. 

The ground floor features a master suite with magnificent views, with a dressing room and an en-suite bathroom with a freestanding bathtub and a separate shower.

Upstairs, there are four superior rooms, Two rooms have king-size beds, The other two rooms can be configured as either twin or king-size beds. All rooms have private bathrooms with spacious walk-in showers. 

Its is just a three-minute walk from the hotel, where guests can enjoy dining at our Owenmore Restaurant or our Fisherman's Pub.

The Owenmore Restaurant, led by Executive Head Chef Danni Barry, was named Ireland’s Fine Dining Hotel Restaurant of the Year in January 2024. You can also dine with us at The Fisherman’s Pub which also serves a delicious bar food menu, prioritising local produce, weather its locally freshly caught seafood to organically grown vegetables from our Walled Garden, dining here captures the essence of Ireland and all we have to offer. For an additional fees we can provide: Family style 2 course dinner served in the lodge. Grocery shopping can also be organised in advance.

 

Explore our vast estate by walking through ancient woodlands or enjoy fly-fishing in the Owenmore River for a peaceful escape into nature. Arrange for a guided walk or hike, in the magnificence mountain range of the Twelve Bens.  Bicycle hire is also available to guests at the hotel, where You can follow suggested routes or hire bikes and discover the beautiful scenery for yourself – the cycling distance will depend on your own choice and the detours you may want to take; we can advise you on distances and cycle routes to suit your plans for the day (or the entire holiday). This makes Ballynahinch Castle Hotel an ideal base for weekend activity breaks in Ireland.

The completed 6km section of the Connemara Greenway located just off the grounds of the Estate which is ideal for those who wish for an easy route away from the main roads.
