Léargas; Connemara Observed

Léargas; Connemara Observed

Léargas: Connemara Observed is an exhibition celebrating the collaboration between Ballynahinch Castle Hotel and Occasional Press over the last decade.

Bringing together the visual artists who have contributed to the published works in one unique group exhibition, in Léargas: Connemara Observed all of the six artists involved – Dorothy Cross, David Lilburn, Mick O’Dea, Jim Savage, Donald Teskey and Joe Wilson – are showing up to six works each.

Léargas means perspective or viewpoint as Gaeilge, and the exhibition brings together work from each individual artist’s project at Ballynahinch and other work inspired by the overarching theme of Connemara.

As part of Clifden Community Arts Week, the longest running community arts festival in Ireland, now in its 41st year,
Léargas: Connemara Observed runs from the 12th to the 23rd of September in the Gallery at Clifden’s Station House concourse.
With the official opening on Saturday September 15th at 5.30 p.m. Léargas: Connemara Observed will begin with an introductory talk by Irish Times art critic Aidan Dunne.

RSVP to [email protected] before Friday 14th September.
