Clifden Irish Nights

Every Tuesday and Thursday night from Mid June to the end of August

The music is provided by local musicians with occassional guest musicians and dancers. The dancing involves local school children; it is a very interactive show and visitors in the audience are most welcome to take part. It is a two-hour show, and commences at 21.00. Roundstone Open Arts Week

Friday 25th June - Monday 5th July

Set amid the stunningly-beautiful scenery of Connemara, the Roundstone Open Arts Week takes place from the 25th June to the 4th July. There will be a programme of music, literature, dance and much more - something for everyone.

Roundstone Traditional Music Sessions

Wednesday 7th July - Wednesday 25th August

A traditional night of music, song and dance, preformed in the Rounstone community centre every Wedneday during July and August,
8.30pm sharp - 10.00pm.

Roundstone Connemara Pony, Dog & Sheep Show

The 5th Annual Roundstone Connemara Pony, Dog & Sheep Show takes place on Sunday, 11th July, 2010. The main event, the Connemara Pony Show, consists of 20 in-hand classes showcasing all ages and varieties of Connemara Pony. A Dog Show and Sheep Show are also included in the day’s events. A great day out is assured for competitors and spectators alike.

Roundstone Regatta

Saturday 17th July - Sunday 18th July

Roundstone Regatta is one of the oldest, if not the oldest, traditional sea festivals in the West of Ireland, dating back to the 1890s.

Ballyconneely Pony Show

Sunday 18th July

The event is one of the largest in the area, attracting many breeders and ponies; there were more than 340 entries last year, making the show the second largest of its kind, and every year it just keeps getting better. With the added attractions of a dog show, a craft show and even a bonny baby competition, there is so much on offer for young and not so young.

The Galway Races

Monday 26th July - Sunday 1st August

This race meeting is ideal for the seasoned punter, holiday makers or indeed a great family day out before children return to school after the summer break.

Galway Film Fleadh

Tuesday 6th July - Sunday 11th July

2010 marks the 22nd Galway Film Fleadh, and the central goal of the festival remains unchanged: to bring together audiences and filmmakers within an intimate environment, and share a common experience

Galway Arts Festival

Monday 12th July - Sunday 25th July

Founded in 1978, Galway Arts Festival is Ireland’s leading multi-disciplinary arts festival, incorporating theatre, spectacle, dance, visual arts, music, literature & comedy.

Connemara Pony Show and Clfiden Pony Show

Monday 16th August - Sunday 22nd August

The Festival of the Connemara Pony is a celebration of the Connemara Pony breed with week-long activities from the 16th - 22nd August .

Omey Races

Sunday 1st August

Omey Races (horse racing on the beach) on Omey Strand Omey is a tidal island located near Claddaghduff, a few miles from Clifden, in the western edge of Connemara.

Roundstone Tour de Bog

Thursday 5th August

The annual fun cycle race from Roundstone to Ballyconneely and back via the bog road. The time to be confirmed.

Watersports Day

Renvyle - Sunday 8th August

Annual Fundraiser in aid of ISPCC & Childline commencing at 13.00. As always, Renvyle Watersports Day is being held on Glassilaun Beach

Roundstone Summerfest

Thursday 12th August - Sunday 15th August

Roundstone Summerfest is a festival of music, fun, laughter, activities and games for the young and the young-at-heart, which also doubles as a four day charity fundraiser for The Irish Lifeboats Service (RNLI).

Clifden Community Arts Week

Thursday 16th September - Sunday 26th September

The Clifden Arts Festival returns with arts events around the town. One of Ireland's longest-running festivals, it has inspired countless other Irish events, bringing the arts to more remote parts of the country through music, dance, drama, poetry and literature.

Galway International Oyster Festival

Thursday 23rd September - Sunday 26th September

The Galway International Oyster Festival is a food festival held annually in Galway during September, the first month of the oyster season.

Leenane Food Festival

Saturday 25th September - Sunday 26th September

There will be producer displays of local foods for sampling and cooking demonstrations by local restaurant chefs

Galway Races

October Bank Holiday Meeting

Sunday 24th October - Monday 25th October

Proven to be a favourite by all and this years race meeting, sees a fantastic weekend of great racing and great craic! Children under 14 have free admission during the weekend. Music will be provided by the Guinness Jazz Band to add to the atmosphere. 

Connemara Sea Week

Connemara Sea Week will have it's usual mix of sporting, cultural and artisitc events.
