Cleggan
Cleggan is a small fishing village just 10km north of Clifden town. Known for it's excellent seafood and is also the location of the ferry to Inishbofin. The pier was built by Alexander Nimmo in 1822. Nimmo a Scottish architect and engineer also designed the Galway - Clifden road, the pier in Roundstone fishing village and the pier at the Spanish Arch in Galway city.

 

A twice daily ferry leaves from Cleggan to Inishbofin island making it an ideal day trip from Ballynahinch.
